Jim Yager, PhD, Advisor

Jim is a Soil Specific Agronomist who was employed for 22 years with DuPont Ag Chemicals in Development, Sales, Research, and Research Farm Management. Jim has been consulting on Soil Specific Management for 10 years using Global Positioning System, and Geographical Information Systems, and new Electrical Conductivity technologies and techniques. He has studied 30 different crops in terms of the relationship between soil texture and associated properties in order to understand the effects on crop health. As a result Jim has developed a detailed knowledge of how to modify farming practices to take into account soil characteristics and better optimize crop quality and yields.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from Kansas State University, a Master of Science degree in Crop Science from Michigan State University and a Ph.D in Agronomy from Kansas State University.
